Hello! We’re in our second month of publishing our new personal finance newsletter, and we’ve given it a little rebrand! Welcome to Money Notes! Most Tuesdays we’ll land in your inbox with super helpful personal finance content. You can read the first post here.

Want to manage your subscriptions? Login into your account, click “manage emails,” and pick and choose which newsletters you want to be subscribed to. Our Financial Clarity Challenge is for paid subscribers!
I’ll add that this newsletter is very long and includes a chart, which is making the font small on my phone. I highly recommend clicking through and reading on the site for a better experience!
I got a little sad on Sunday night because two of my favorite days—Halloween and the New York City Marathon—happened to fall on the same weekend this year, and now I feel like there’s nothing I’m looking forward to until spring. Adding insult to injury is daylight saving time, which means it’s getting dark so early! Maybe this is the year I invest in a SAD lamp?
But despite the fact that gift guides are rolling out and stores have already set up their Christmas decor, we still have a few weeks until the winter holidays kick into high gear. And this is the perfect time to do a little planning before the end-of-year madness, with an emphasis on those financial tasks that actually have deadlines attached to them.
If you can get these taken care of before Thanksgiving, you can go into December with a lighter to-do list. Plus, if you need help from a financial professional (or other service providers), they’ll be glad to hear from you now and not in a panic right before everyone checks out between Christmas and New Year.
